Tracy- this is so timely! I teach college students, and this is an email I got the other day, 2 hours before class started:

"Good morning, I will be running quite late today. I will be there but I will be late. My daughter had me up last night at 11 and at 2-3, so I slept in later than I typically do. I will also be stopping at Starbucks; if you’d like something let me know as a sorry for me interrupting when I arrive. Thank you, [student]"

Then, she showed up 40 minutes late to class, with only her own coffee. Of course I wnated some, but asking her to get me coffee is taking bribes - she should have just brought me some or not told me she was going! Ha ha. Ya gotta love those college students! Great article!
